Half Drawing
For this Summative assessment we had to take a picture from a magazine or the Internet, and cut at least 4 inches of it off and replicate that side you cut out. We had to add contrast, line variation, texture, value, and many other skills. We also had to make sure it was porportional. The process we did was the upside down drawing, candy drawing, popcan drawing, and the half drawing. Theses helped up with value, texture, line value, and making sure everything a was proportional.
I used a lot of blending in this piece to show it was 3-D, and to also show off some of smooth features. I did a lot of hatching in the hair to show that it was not coarse and thick, and I added a bunch of highlights to show off some of the lighter features in the artwork. Drawing the hand was hard because I had to make sure it was proportional, make sure all the texture was added, and then add the shading. But it is still one of the many things I am very proud of in this project considering how hard it is to draw any hand. One thing I would like to change would be the contour in her cheek bones. I feel I could have made it more blended out and dimensional. I also feel I could have incorporated it better in the face, and how the face was blended.

Upside Down Drawing
For the upside down drawing we had do copy a set of lines for each rectangle and in in the end we would get a picture. While doing this it got really tough because it was upside down so I had no idea what I was drawing for most of the time. There were times when I really wanted to give up, but I told myself I could finish this if just tried. We were working on line variation and how different lines could make a picture. Even though this got really tough at some points. And even if I didn't finish completely, I still am very impressed in how well I did with this upside down drawing.

Candy Wrapper Drawing
This is the candy wrapper drawing. The concept was to take a piece of candy, and its wrapper and draw it. It didn't matter how is was placed, the drawing just had to have the piece of candy and the wrapper. For the process of drawing this I placed the piece of candy on white paper just to see the shadows. I then started of by drawing the candy itself with just a simple square and turned it 3-D. I then added in some shading on the candy and blended it out to get that shadowy 3-D form.. Doing the wrapper was diefently hard with all of its creases, shadows, and textures. I feel my biggest success was diefently the candy and how I shaded it, because I was worried the candy itself wouldn't look as good and mess the whole drawing up.

Hand Drawing
This is my hand drawing, and the concept is really in its name. We had to draw our hand. I first had to figure out what position my hand was going to be in. After I figured that out I decided my starting point was going to me my thumb. After I draw my thumb i drew the tops of the other four fingers, and then I drew the different lungs of each finger. I then added the palm, drew all the creases, and then shaded it. The hardes parts were drawing the fingers. At first I tried drawing each finger individually, but the turned out way to skinny. I tried to do this many times then, my teacher gave me the idea to draw the top of the fingers. After I drew the tops the rest slowly came to me. And even after all of that I am really proud of how my hand turned out.
